Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The gospel is good news—”The good news of what God has done in Jesus Christ”(TGC).
People have used the word gospel a lot but they don’t fully understand what is truly means. It’s how Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave to cleanse us from our sin. God’s gospel message shows his love for us through him giving his one and only son to die on the cross and paying the ultimate price. One day everything will be made new. There will be a new heaven and earth where there will be no pain and suffering and no sin. The gospel is the joy that is everlasting and satisfies our hearts.
1 Corinthians 15:1-28 – “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand”.
Understanding the Gospel
“The gospel is a divine achievement through that event of suffering and resurrection”. (DesiringGod).
There is already a lot to take in but it is important to understand that you don’t earn your way into heaven by good things here on earth. It’s by your personal relationship between you and Christ Jesus. There will be no one in the entire universe that can get you to heaven. Not your mom and dad, family members or friends, just you! It’s your choice if you allow God in your life. You can’t just hear the gospel, You must believe it and confess that Jesus is Lord.
Spreading the Gospel
1) Scripture says to make disciples of all nations and teach them about Jesus Christ and you can find it in Matthew 28:19-20. Jesus commands all his followers (us) to spread and share what he has done. Don’t just share the good news with a little group around you, Jesus says ALL nations.
2) Scripture also says not to be ashamed of the gospel because its the power of God that gives us salvation to anyone who believes. Which can be found in Romans 1:16. These scriptures are great because is tells us the importance of spreading the gospel.
